10 Upcoming Toyota Cars In 2024 & Beyond (Including SUVs)

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is gearing up to introduce a lineup of new models in the next three years. Here’s an overview of the anticipated models:

1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor (Early 2024):

Toyota plans to unveil a new compact SUV coupe, the Urban Cruiser Taisor, expected to launch in early 2024. This model, a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, will be positioned above the Glanza premium hatchback. It will feature a 1.2L NA petrol and a 1.0L turbo petrol engine, available with manual and automatic transmissions. Minor exterior and interior enhancements are expected compared to its Maruti Suzuki counterpart.

2. Toyota Fortuner & Hilux Mild-Hybrid:

Toyota is set to introduce mild-hybrid technology to the Hilux, following its debut in Europe. The Fortuner SUV will also adopt this technology, providing lower emissions, enhanced performance, and improved fuel efficiency. The India-specific models are likely to incorporate this mild-hybrid system in the coming year.

3. Toyota Electric SUV:

Toyota’s first electric SUV for India will share commonalities with the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX. Expected to launch in 2025, this e-SUV will feature distinctive styling and come with single and dual motor configurations, along with a substantial battery pack offering a range of over 550 km on a single charge.

4. 7-Seater Toyota Corolla Cross & Next-Gen Fortuner (By 2026):

Toyota will introduce a stretched wheelbase version of the Corolla Cross in India by 2026. Produced at a new facility in Bidadi, Karnataka, it will utilize the TNGA-C platform shared with the Innova Hycross. The premium SUV is likely to be powered by a 2.0L petrol engine and a 2.0L strong hybrid petrol engine.

5. Toyota Camry Hybrid Facelift:

Unveiled at the 2023 LA Auto Show, the facelifted Toyota Camry features a new front end inspired by the latest Crown. Set to launch in India, it will retain the 2.5L petrol/hybrid setup, offering an upgraded aesthetic and potential performance enhancements.

6. More Affordable Toyota Fortuner & Hilux:

Toyota unveiled a pickup truck concept based on the affordable IMV 0 platform at the Japan Mobility Show 2023. This platform will give rise to more affordable versions of the Fortuner and the Hilux, with potential consideration for the Indian market.

7. Toyota Land Cruiser FJ:

The Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, possibly named after the latest Prado-based 4×4 compact SUV, is under consideration for India. This off-roader, teased alongside the new Prado, aims to compete with the five-door Jimny.
